Basic Hydraulic Systems for Die Casting

Perhaps no form of power is more universally used than hydraulic power. In die casting equipment, hydraulic systems are an integral part of the process to produce high quality parts within cost parameters. However, it is clear that with increased technology and automation, hydraulic circuits have become much more complex in the way they interact with electro-mechanical-PLC processes. Troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic components have become all the more important to the successful daily operation of die casting equipment. This webinar is dedicated to understanding and implementing hydraulic principles.

It will review the definitions and principles that govern how hydraulic processes work, including Pascals law, force multiplication, laminar flow-turbulent flow, hydraulic fluid systems and contamination control. The basic formulas for hydraulic fluid flow and other areas covered include energy inputs and outputs; and hydraulic pressure.

Introduction & Basic Principles of Hydraulic Processes
This webinar will start with the basic structure and concepts of hydraulics. From the power source, transmission of the source to either transitional or rotational loads. Applications in the die cast process are reviewed. The basic concepts for hydraulic applications are examined and Pascal’s equations for fluid power association are applied to hydraulic circuits.
