Additive Manufacturing - Do You Know the Benefits?
A recent NADCA survey indicated that 40% of respondents are already using additive manufacturing for the production of cores and/or inserts in the die casting dies. The objective of this 2-part webinar series is to provide an update on additive manufacturing technologies and describe applications for the production of components for die casting dies.
Part 1: Overview of Additive Manufacturing - Part 1 of the 2-part series will introduces the additive manufacturing process, describe the four additive manufacturing processes used for the fabrication of metallic components, and describe web locations where information can be found on the equipment used to produce 3D printed inserts, and the production of AM components from a range of alloys.
Date: March 15, 2022
Part 2: Applications of Additive Manufacturing in Die Casting - Part 2 of the 2-part series will provide practical examples of the benefits of fabricating die inserts by additive manufacturing. In addition, the results of recent research efforts will be presented, including information such as the effect of powder size on the performance of 3D printed inserts, and the effect of conformal cooling lines on cooling efficiency.
